My mother-in-law's boyfriend recently passed away. I flew to Denver to help with the estate and literally found an 83 Monte Carlo w factory t-tops, CL interior, and almost fully optioned in a metal garage. Its showing just under 23k miles and it was documented with title in 2003 with 21K. Its buried under a bunch of crap and racoon poo on the windshield and hood. I'm headed up at the end of March with a trailer to pick it up. The guys working on property cleanup will have all the trash removed by then. The flip-up garage door is blocked by a dirt berm. He had a few other cars blocked in around the property. No one knew this car existed within the family until we stumbled on it during clean-up.

I hope to post picture here as I begin getting her moved and running again. I am looking for a few parts already and posted in the Parts classified.

It's hard to believe they are still out there and I bet that interior will clean up nicely.

Thanks, guys. I am thinking a professional steam cleaner, a long weekend, and some sore arms and the interior will be looking like new. At least 14 years of gunk on the upholstery since the t-tops were off. Going be work for sure. But it'll be cool.

I thought you took the t-top it off for the picture, why would anyone just leave it off for any length of time is beyond me.

Awesome with the blue and t tops

Are you pretty confident its not a rollback 123k car?

Yes. Its documented on the title registry. You can track it doing the VIN search and state records. Its been parked since 2003. There was a 70 442 with 19K miles. Couldn't afford that car.

From what I have gathered, an 83 T-top is rare because most wikis say they don't exist even though it had an RPO and listed in marketing promos. Also, very few light blue cars. So even though Chevy didn't keep numbers, what I have been told is that its probably a low production number combo. I love that color. The front bumper pic shows a peak at how good the paint is under all that gunk.
