I am putting together a 1980 Malibu wagon. I finished re-assembling the heater box/fan and re-installed the large chrome trim that fits between the windshield and the wipers. After I installed it seems like I’m missing something cause there’s some extra holes and it looks odd. I’d like to see a photo of one that’s put together to see if I’m missing something.

It’s funny because despite all the wonderful photos and parts diagrams available I still can’t see how this thing is supposed to look because either folks have it off in photos or the hood is closed ect. Pictures to follow.

There's also a bracket for the WSW sprayer on the passenger side. Doesn't exactly bolt up to the chrome piece, but it bolts near there. There's ramp stops for the wipers (non-serviceable part, so don't lose them) and little cutout near the middle for the access to the passenger wiper pivot fasteners.

Good thing is, if you're missing any of that stuff, all the G-bodies use pretty much the same junk in that area that physically will bolt up. Color of the wiper arms and windshield trim may be silver or black, but they fit the same.

The other thing I’m noticing is I’m missing the weatherstrip. When I get home I’ll post a photo of the situation because there’s some oval shaped slots, which I’m assuming the window stops fit into. I found some on eBay for the right price but I may have them and not know what I’m looking at.

Most likely I’ll start a build page, it’s a funny situation because when I got the car back everything was loosely categorized into different ziplock bags lol. Now trying to put together with all the details is harder than I expected.

the ovel slots are for a tab on the stops. If you have a wrecking yard close alot of the GM used the same stop and they should be about a buck for both, while your there if you don't have the windshield washer nossles get them too and make sure you grab the bolts

There are two styles of washer nozzles. The plastic nozzles above were used in 1982 and later. Earlier cars used a metal tube and a stamped bracket to retain it, which was in turn screwed to the front of the cowl. I highly recommend the plastic nozzles over the early version. Also, coupes use different nozzles than wagons/sedans from 82 on (taller/ more vertical windshield).

off topic but what size plugs did you use to rid of door wiring boot between body and the door?
