Ok my fellow G body friends. Yesterday my wife while cooking put some broken up egg shells down the garbage disposal. Now i have a backed up kitchen drain. This happened before and i used some drain cleaner and after a few hours it seemed to work. I warned her not to do that again. Well she did it again. We live in a manufactured home so the plumbing is different from a stick house im sure. So now my sink, dishwasher and washing machine can't be used.So i purchased what is supposed to be the number 1 drain cleaner(pic included) and dumped it down the sink and the laundry room sink. Both drains are hooked together. Its been in there about 4 hrs no luck. I have a 20ft snake (not a real one) and ran it down there. No luck. Any suggestions before i call the plumber

Do you have an outside clean out? Is this on septic? Try plunger on kitchen sink or laundry. Take garbage disposal off and check pipe.

Well i am on septic. I had a similar problem in my old place and was all plugged up once. But everythimg was backing up at that time. Turned out it was the septic drain. But here my toilets and showers drain fine. I ran a 20ft snake down the kitchen drain. Seemed all clear. I cant get seem to get it to go down the laundry drain though. Only about 5 to 10 feet. It just cant seem to get around some corners or whatever is there.

Sounds like you found the problem.

Egg Shells generally Plug the pipes where the Drain pipes from the sink/double sink/dish washer come together. In my Kitchen, this piece is quick removable so the Plumber can charge $200 for something that only takes 15 minutes to fix.

I would trace the pipes and look to see if you have this

My $0.02 on this, once you feel you are out of your depth and tried what you know, on plumbing and electric, its best to get a professional in there. Its sometimes the hardest thing to do but i would rather call someone in to get it done right than spend more time and money trying every youtube trick and then have to call in a professional to fix it anyway. In the words of Harry Callahan " A man's got to know his limitations"
