A few pictures of the wet sanding and buffing I did. Have around 20 hours in it but man was it worth it!!! First 3 are in progress or before, the last one is after completion!!

Hard work , but so worth your time spent. Every one can have their own opinion about how to do that and what products to use, but results are what counts. Haven't got to try it yet on black car paint, but got a pack of 3-m trizact dry sanding paper that starts with 3000 and then jumps straight to 8000, needing less buffing time afterwards. I also still like meguiars diamond cut for results vs time spent. It's an old school diminishing compound that starts out cutting and wears down to a finer polishing rouge. great for quick touch ups. If you see any sanding scratches return in a few weeks, then your compound had a high level of fillers in it that masked the surface not being done enough.
I always encourage anyone that thinks they can to learn to colorsand & buff to study up on it & try. A detailer that drops in on websites once posted that I shouldn't encourage amateurs to do their own work. Sure, you can burn through a spot, etc, but at the end of the day, it's just paint & can all be fixed. Look at your smiling face in the reflection of your flattened & deep gloss paint job & tell me I'm wrong in doing so. I think not.

This was the first time I’ve ever done this. I had the guidance from 2 guys that have been involved in body work and detailing for 20+ years!! I never would have tried it without their help and knowledge.

Looks good, you can see the difference bigtime! It's a little challenging at first but once you get your finger on the trigger and get control of the buffer it's just a matter of time before you get the confidence to go at it.
