So I have been trying to nail down one of those Magnaflow 16448 stainless steel Pontiac V-8 head pipes I was advised of on here last year. Every single vendor advertised that they had some "in stock". But when I go to order it, then it becomes an order from the factory with a several week lead time. And then it becomes "sorry- unavailable". WTF?!? Why even list it? I just e-mailed 4 separate Fleabay vendors that also say they have between 4 and 10 "in stock". No good. Only one pulled the ad. I figured maybe Magnaflow would make some maybe once a year but they have not. What irks me the most is that way back when Pontiac V-8's were still being made you could get all the single exhaust head pipes you wanted. But the Ram Air duals were totally unobtainable. Now, you can get all the stainless steel Ram Air duals you want- but no single head pipes at all. Do they think every Pontiac V-8 still on the road has Ram Air exhaust manifolds?!?

That part number does not exist on the Magnaflow website.

It is kind like getting the 442 factory replacement pipes, they assume everyone just puts on dual exhaust. The sites that say in stock but have 0 and never had any should be shot.

I think everyone assumes there are no Pontiacs left. You have to be careful buying parts now. A lot of the 301 and 350 parts are actually Chevy parts. The people who maintain the catalog databases don't know anything and they think every motor is the same.

They think everyone is running a Chevy engine now a days. I refuse to put a Chevy in my Pontiacs
