Anyone using a "portable" style 2 post lift in their garage? I have 8ft ceilings in the garage, so a tall 2 post won't work but I have been looking at the portable style that have somewhere around a 40" lift and can be removed for storage if needed(and if anchors are installed correctly). Anyone have one?

No I don't. Only things I have heard is that they say portable, but in reality most leave them in place then lose room because they are a PITA to move around...

I have been looking at max jax. Seriously thinking about buying in the next couple of weeks. This up coming weekend I will be cutting up my garage floor to get it up to spec. 6 inch deep 5000 psi concrete

I would get a 4 post lift with a caster kit instead plus most don't even require them to be mounted to the floor when in use.

I am looking at the same option. Only because while my garage floor is rated for a 2-post, it has radiant heating in it, and drilling into the floor makes me nervous. You can still do 95% of the same work with a 4-post you can with a 2-post with some accessories like post jacks or a hydraulic cradle. Plus cars are far less prone to falling off of 4-post lifts.

Started my lift install. Max jax ordered. The concrete has to cure for 28 days. Than I can drill the holes to mount the posts
