I would not trust any ID numbers on a rear end decades old. You won't know if anyone has changed the carrier and/or gears until you remove the cover which only has 10 bolts to remove. Then when you figure out if that is the rear end you want you can fill it with fresh lubricant which it probably needs.

This is true. I was just trying to see if I could find them while cleaning and inspecting my leaky front seal from sitting for 3 years.
