Positraction carrier stuck?

Ive taken the four bolts out behind the races.. removed the bar between the spider gears...pulled the c clips and axles out.. but it wont budge. am i supposed to pry it, if so, where at? ignore the 4 bolts in this picture, this was before i had done any work..

and sorry for the double post, wasnt exactly sure where to post it.

lastly... not sure how to find the info, like the ratio for it? its got 41 teeth, i know its a 3 series.. but what exactly does that mean?

if your crown is 41, the pinion by counting is 15 so that's a 2 series carrier and the gear ratio is 2.73

I hope you marked the caps so they go back on the side they were installed on and you kept the backlash shims so they go back in on each side exactly how they came out.....you can go down to a 3.08 with a 2 series. That's an Eaton posi so you have a good one, they are better than an Auburn and go for more money

the housing its self im selling, i just bought it for the posi.. when i take the g body rear apart to put this one in they will be marked. and how can i go to a 3.08? change the pinion gear?

All GM's are marked with the tooth count on both the edge of the ring gear as well as on the face of the pinion. Glad you got it out without any drama. I was going to suggest you turn it over and position your sneaker wearing foot underneath it. It would fall out all on it's own!!! :rofl: Both the ring gear and pinion are a matched set, and must be set up from scratch properly. Going to a 3:08 is probably not worth the trouble and expense.
