Im selling my rebuilt TH400 trans for $400 on craigslist. I get a text asking what's my bottom dollar and I say $380 since I dont have the rear seal for it(missing from kit). Everything looks normal then the buyer asks if he can send the payment via paypal because he is in boot camp in Fenton, Michigan. I told him to call me so we could talk and I could know it was spam. So he calls and I cant understand a ****ing word this guy says. Its not even a foreign language it sounds like Tommy Chong after a severe stroke. So he send the money via paypal along with the additional fees and the transporting fees. I check my email and paypal and nothing. Then I go in my spam folder and there it is. A payment of $780 - $380+$300(shipping)+$50 for fees and tax. The message has a yellow tag at the top saying people have marked similiar messages as spam. What do you guys think here? I have never sold something this big on craigslist before and most scammers have sent the same old text messages asking me to ship it through 300 people. Any ideas on what to do? Name is Sgt Larry Veit.

I just got a message saying I need to go to the nearest Western Union and send the $350 for shipping to the Transport Agent BEFORE the money clears my account. Now this is looking like a scam.

Your first mistake was calling the guy back in the first place. Scam all the way, walk away. When I sell stuff on Craigslist I don't even acknowledge people from other locations unless they are coming to me. It's a local ad; if I wanted to sell to the world, I'd put it on e-bay.

If its asking you to send money for something you did not recieve any money for I would certianly say its a scam

That's how they rope you in,lol....
Just walk away and call it a day, it's not worth the hassle even if he was a legit buyer.

If the loser can't set up his own shipping then walk away.
