Don't waste anymore time on it, just ignore him. If it was legit, he would open an incident with PayPal. No money in your account = no transaction. He can pound sand, might get a little further.

Why cant people work for a living instead of trying to take away from those of us that do?

because there are a lot a of stupid people willing to do stupid things. a fool and his money are soon parted.

tell him to bring it to court. he'll disappear quick, he doesn't want a judge poking their nose into his business dealings. hell, tell him you'll call the cops for him. see how fast he stops talking to you.

Scam! Walk away from this transaction now.

After the guy spent all night texting me telling me to get ready to go to jail I blocked his number  I have been watching my accounts, paypal, and email periodically throughout the day and havent found anything out of the norm. Im gonna keep an eye on it somemore just to be safe. Thanks for all the advice guys

I'd say as long as you didn't accept the $$ there's nothing he can do-besides he's the one scamming you, its his loss. That's the nice thing about PayPal, you can refund money easily. I had that happen to me the other day, I got an email @ 530 saying this guy can't use a phone b/c he's deaf and he'd send a certified bank check. I made the mistake of emailing him and asked where he was located, I wanted to meet in person to do the transaction, no response. Looked on craigslist they say scammers will send a "certified" check and then itll bouce a few weeks later after its all said and done. I've learned the hard way too how to deal on craigslist-phone calls only, cash only, local pick up. Can't wait to get rid of all the extra stuff I don't need so I won't have to dick around with it anymore or selling crap on craigslist....it was a good idea, but its $hit like this that ruins it for everyone else....

I hear that. This was the first scam where they asked me about it and wanted certain details. All the other times I got the typical "What condition is this item in" and all that B.S. I didnt accept sh*t and nothing even showed up in paypal, just an email from Western Union saying I needed to send $350 to get $775.

Ive had a few similar experiences on both CL and ebay.. I think it sucks that these scammers are pretending to be military, so while he's trying to scam, the real guys are out there protecting the very same freedoms that allow these *ssh*les to pull these scams.

Usually you can copy and paste a few lines of the conversation into google and get a lot of hits on the same scam with different cars or parts, but the same bogus "I'm being deployed on Tuesday" bullshit..

You could always call his bluff and ask for his specific unit and commanding officer's office phone number to verify he is in fact for real. That should shut him right the f#&k up!
