Power bucket seat lowering

I have an 83 cutlass with I think it’s 6 way power buckets with the old blown up plastic casing motors I intend later to swap for the 3 motor newer style hopefully though in the process I was wondering if anyone knows of a way for me to retain my power seat function but lower the seat I’m “lucky” enough to not be super tall at only 6’ but I have tiny midget legs and a tall torso needless to say with the seat adjusted all the way down my head is probably about an inch from the roof and I often can’t see traffic lights without leaning my head down unless I’m 3-4 cars back as well the sun visors are essentially useless for me.

Any ideas or is it just time for suck it up buttercup?

I would change buckets possibly if I absolutely had to but hoping to avoid it just looking for ideas

If you lower it to much with a busted gear. you wont be able to take the seat out without doing some damage to it.

Best to remove the seat repair what is broken

Do it right once and forget about it.

Well no it was lowered as far as the power seat was allowed prior to the power seat transmission exploding but what I am asking is once I fix it is there anyway to modify it to make it even lower and retain power seats once I fix the issue because even as low as it goes still isn’t low enough.

With it lowered in its lowest spot now.

Are you even able to remove the seat?

My Cutlass power seat was in its lowest spot I could barely get a wrench under there to get it out.

I got the front bolts out and had to bend the seat tracks back.

So to answer your question, No i don't believe they can go any lower if the original is in it's lowest position.

I haven’t tried to removed yet because I don’t have the correct parts but I hope I can remove it.

That’s a shame I was hoping to not have to duck anymore oh well I guess hopefully someone has other ideas

The lowest setting on a power seat is probably as low as you are going to get for any set up, if you have some welding and fabrication skills you could modify your floorboards to move the mounts down and then reinforce them.

If you can live without the power unit you could fabricate some brackets that mount directly to the seats but you would lack adjustability.
