Question on my 455 swap in an 80 cutlass . I have all the original brackets ,pulleys and power steering pump on the 455 that I’m putting in my 1980 cutlass. My question is will the lines on the 1974 power steering pump hook up on my 1980 steering box ?if not are there fittings available to adapt this , or will the 1980 power steering pump bolt to my 74 brackets ? Id rather not try to swap all the 80 stuff onto the 455 , since I want to sell the 307 complete . Thank you

The one issue you'll run in to is '80 up power steering hoses uses the metric O ring fittings as the one with the 455 uses the '79 & older flair fittings. Might be a good idea to get '78 up brackets (think '77 up with B & C bodies). But I think some of the others who uses BBO's had to do some adapting with SBO brackets at certain mount points. Now another idea if everything fits would be putting the '80 up pump into the '74 tank (not sure since the '80 up ones are "metric").

You may be able to swap the valve body containing the pressure port between pumps to solve the hose end problem.

Thanks for the replies , I thought I saw somewhere there were adapter fittings to go from one to another but could be wrong . I will revisit the issue when it comes time to do the install

good call, you nailed it on the head.

i would just leave the 80 pump/bracket and line on the car and bolt them to the 455. less mess. but what ever works for you.
