Hi all, Im in the process of restoring my 1984 Hurst Olds and I’m in need of some assistance. When I purchased the vehicle the window switches were a mess. The wiring looks like a total cluster F.

I need to know how and where the wires are connected. Also where I can purchase the connector on the rear of the switch. I have seen aftermarket switches.. however I’m not sure if they come with the proper harness in the back. I will post pictures below. Thanks in advance!

thast is not a cluster f, all the last owner did was to use quick connects to splice in a "new" plug. Head off to your local scrap yard and get some "new" plugs with a lenght of wire or if you want the whole harness for the windows there a connector behind the kick panel on each side so you can grab the whole harness.

I may have been a little over dramatic lol. I’m sure it is a lot easier than it looks (to me at least). I have no experience. Im afraid to start touching wires to the wrong terminal. They get hot fast if connected wrong.

GBodys are nonexistent in my area. If they do have one in a scrapyard those would have been the one of first things pulled. I looked everywhere. Do you know of a company that sells the harness aftermarket?

I don't know if anyone sells reproductions. You are not limited to a G body for the harness, I think any 2 door GM from that time frame would work

It would not be hard to rebuild the plugs but I could never find new connectors....
