The proverbial old hoarder that has all the unicorn parts we’re looking for! That’s exactly the guy that would use those for postage.

OK.. so I got the new NOS water valve in the mail today. And WTF?? Take a look at the packaging, and the postage...

When I came inside from the mail box, I could tell these stamps were old. Hello... 6 cents?? Plus they were hardly sticking to the envelope, because the glue was old. I looked on the back side of the envelope, and WHAT?? 6 cent stamps all over. I Googled it before I even opened the envelope. These stamps are from 1968. 50 years old! They sell on Ebay, and Amazon for several dollars for 4-6 stamps . I have more money in these old stamps, than I paid for the water valve. Who does that???
I have gotten several packages over the years with stamps worth more than the face value. Can't understand why they throw money out like that.

A little update on the 18" Camaro rally wheels. I had to spread out this purchase, because as most of you know, I'm building this car on a budget. I needed to sell some parts from my stash, in order to fund this purchase. Here's a recap...
I started with a FB purchase of the used Camaro wheels $80. The tires were crap. and had no center caps... Perfect! I can't use the tall tire that comes on the new Camaro, and I don't want Chevy Bowtie logos on my Olds center caps. See how similar the design of these wheels are to the original? Modern-day Rallys...

I used my Amazon employee discount, and purchased these tires. They are Chinese tires, but had really good reviews. They do not have an aggressive tread pattern, and are only .2 inches taller than the stock tire. 245/40/18 all the way around. Fitment should not be a problem. $233 delivered.

I needed center caps. Ebay to the rescue... I found this chrome replacement set with trim rings, for $79 shipped. I'm not real happy with the quality, but this is no show car, so they will suffice... for now. Couldn't resist the Olds " rocket " valve stem caps, LOL. They were $9.

As most of you know, these wheels have a deep offset that require a 2" spacer for proper fitment on our cars. These spacers /adapters were not cheap. They are not your typical spacer, as they also change the bolt pattern from 5x4.75" to 5x120mm. $150 shipped for all (4). I also purchased all (20) new wheel studs from Dorman, to convert these 1978 model 7/16"x20 original studs, to M12x1.5 Metric studs. These will match the 2001 S10 Blazer front hubs I'm using for the front brake upgrade ( although I'm replacing the original stockers with these, as well ). I even purchased new lug nuts. Just all new hardware... Now you know this style of center cap requires " double threaded " lug nuts to attach them. So I purchased (20) Dorman replacement lug nuts for 1988+ GM vehicles. $65 for all the Dorman metric studs, and replacement lug nuts. I sold enough stuff, so what the hell...

I've got $600 in these. Still a pretty good deal for 18" wheels, new caps & trim rings, new tires, and all new hardware. So how does it look... I only spent 5 minutes mocking up (1) wheel, as I have not swapped out the new wheel studs. Fitment was perfect. Here's a sneak peek. I was hoping to get the job done this weekend, but it looks like rain, sooo...

Anybody got any used drop springs??? LOL.

I also knew when I bought the car that It needed a new steering column. It was VERY wobbly. The tilt bowl was extremely loose. I could have probably fixed it, but someone had also tapped into the wiring harness of the column for some reason. They had cut a few wires, and twisted them back together.. IDK?? The turn signal lever was really loose, as well. Replacement time.
I found a nice unit on FB from Mr. Keith's. It was Floor shift, Tilt, and had a brand new ignition lock w/ key installed. $216 delivered. Thanks Keith Burwell. I am cleaning, and prepping it for paint, as I write this. I will install it soon, along with a Jeep steering shaft, that I dug out of my stash.

I had my doubts about those wheels, but they actually don't look too bad. I need to see the centercap in place and a full car profile for final judgement.
$150 really isn't that bad for a set of 4 adapters.
