Are you going to leave them black, or are you going to paint them body color? Either way, they look really good! (y)
Black for now, Carmine when it gets a paint job.

I had my doubts about those wheels, but they actually don't look too bad. I need to see the centercap in place and a full car profile for final judgement.
$150 really isn't that bad for a set of 4 adapters.
I was concerned also. Thought maybe I should of went with something else, but I liked the somewhat " period-correct " styling. Once I clean off the soap residue from mounting the tires, and get the center caps on, I'll post the pics for sure.

Lookin' good, Amigo.
Keith Burwell aka Capt, Corona, is a good guy. I haven't spoken to him in years. I was the one that coined that title for him. :friday:

That was my nickname before there were things like Facebook and the different interest groups would talk to each other by leaving messages on a website Forum page

So it's been a couple weeks, but I have a couple small updates. I finally received the " Rocket " emblems I am using for my wheel center caps. The replacement chrome trim ring and center cap kit I purchase last month, came with no logos on them. Perfect.. I can't use Camaro Bowtie emblems on my Olds. Sooo.. I found these. Had to special order them, and the quality is questionable... but this is no show car ( just a cool car). Here's a pic with the " Rocket " valve stem caps, also. This setup should look good for awhile.

I have also been rounding up some replacement interior plastic. This car was in pretty good shape for it's age, but some of the 40 year old plastic was chalking, and the lower door panels had some gouges in them. I found a replacement Passenger side panel on FB, with no price. I offered $40, and he accepted. Done. It's in really good shape, with no chalking. The pic is after I scrubbed it with a ScotchBrite pad, and Dawn. When I get closer to painting, I will scrub it with 000 steel wool, before final prep. Carpet will be removed, and new Black carpet inserts will be installed.

I also found a nice set of A-pillar trim on Ebay. The starting bid was $25. Nobody else even bothered to bid... $33.70 shipped. Thank you very much. These are in really good shape. The pic is after a ScothchBrite / Dawn scrub.

You may remember, one of the problem areas with the car, was the steering column ( see above post ). The steering column lower cover was also cracked when I got the car. I located a really nice one. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but it was the nicest one I could find. $41 shipped. Same ScotchBrite / Dawn bath.

So lets talk interior plastic paint.... I have had good luck using SEM paint in the past, but they do not make the 1978-79 Carmine Red anymore. Do you guys have any direct testimony using the other brands?? I hear the best reviews on the OER brand, with regards to color match, but it is the most expensive.

On another note... I'm still gathering parts for the suspension / Blazer brake install. I am going to replace all the front steering components. Next purchases will consist of a full set of KYB shocks, replacement upper control arms, new ball joints, center link, tie rods, idler arm, etc. I will do all of it at the same time, and install the longer wheel studs, spacers, and wheels. Until next time...

I know the auto body supply by me will make up SEM colors and then put it into rattle can.
So you may want to check out your local auto body supply.

I always suggest PPG as I've usd their stuff for years. Dosen't hurt to have the PPG codes for almost all the interior colors for the 4th gen A/G bodies to get the right color and/or low gloss level.
