A brand new local "club" was started last year. Basically a private, car country club. Only 6 miles from my house. They had an open house tonight and for $10 you could do "parade" laps in single file. Had to go enjoy the 1.1 mile track :D I was the first person in line behind the track instructor. Obviously he went fairly easy. Track is very technical, lots of turns and elevation changes. Only one longer straight away. The members were allowed to use the track separate from us and they could run as fast they wanted. The fastest guy had a modified M3 with a turbo, big brakes, and sticky tires. He got up to maybe 55mph on the straight. I had a riot, car performed flawlessly. It quickly became evident how much I need new seats that will keep me planted... As I left one of the track workers stopped me and commented how everyone thought I was going to hold them up, yet I was right on the instructors bumper and they couldn't keep up with me. Kinda gave me the warm fuzzies :)

Mr Street Bu & all; Well I skimmed the entire thread & would just like to say You've done a FINE job. Your color combo is right ON & I love your wheel choice. I do want to mention that your speedo only paused my ole' brain for about 2 seconds, maybe less? My Grand Daughter asked if my GuTOo was faster than the Bronze Brick because the speedo goes up to 200 & the Bronze Brick's only goes up to 120? So with that mind think mine is 5 MPH faster than yours? One last idea, I noted from your pictures that you still have pressed in rocker studs? I have a spare set of ARP's 3/8" with modest wear if your interested? Enjoy Ole' Bob.

Thanks Bob! Yes the speed is out actually of a Malibu Police car. I'll pass on the screw in studs. I don't want to have to pull the heads to install them and they were only meant to be temporary until I go six speed and LS motor but that's a secret... ;) LOL

So I was bored today, sitting on the couch, day dreaming about what I want to do to the car next. I definitely NEED different/better front seats. Now that it can corner it's obvious the stock Monte seats won't retain me well enough to enjoy the suspension to it's fullest :) Then I keep coming back to my lack of an overdrive and the ridiculous high rpm's I turn on the highway at 70mph and sometimes a tad more hehehe. Gotta get a six speed in it... But that becomes an engine swap also because if I go six speed, I might as well go LSX. ughhhh can't drop that much more into this car in the next year. We're in the process of trying to get a new house built after we tear down our current one. That always costs more than you planned.... Why can't I just win the Powerball?! LOL

So long story short I'm headed to the junkyard tomorrow to see what I can find for seats that might keep me planted.

Street Bu; Would you consider Modern GTO seats? Car & Driver rated them the most comfortable GM seats of the day back in 04. Down side they have very thick backs rendering the back seat useless. With the exception if your rear passengers have no legs. If you're interested check in with Josh Herrell on FB Josh's car corner. I'll try to post a path. https://www.facebook.com/josh.herrell.3 As he found a fella that had LOTS of modern GTO parts. Or buy my tan leather Recaros & brackets and I'll get some GTO seats. Good luck, Ole' Bob.

Thanks for the tip but you're right. Those things are huge! Walked around the u pull it yard while it was snowing. Think I might go for a set of these...

They are from a mid 90's Honda Del Sol. Very comfortable and smaller to fit me. I'm 6' but only 165lbs.... This is a pic I snagged from the 'net. Now I just need to find a decent set, and hopefully close by
