The parts fairy stopped by today. Still wasn't planning on spending any money on this engine this year, but when you find a deal, you have to jump on it. PAC1218 springs and retainers, (used) Hopefully that doesn't bite me in the *ss. For $100 it was hard to pass up though.

You know there is a tool to check those springs. I have a local (old) guy that lets me use his whenever I want. If you're in no rush, then send them to me and I'll check them. It would be a good reason to come to Skaneateles, or I should say skinny atlas.

Sloppy swap. Cam, slap the 243 heads from the 5.3L I bought onto it to bump the compression and install it.

I need a way to store these motors until I'm ready to use them. LS engine cradles are evidently made of gold. They run $125 when the same thing for a SBC is only $49 🤬 So I drew up the bolt pattern on the side of the block and had a buddy with a CNC plasma torch them out for me. Hopefully pick up some steel tomorrow and make the frames this week after work.

The parts fairy also stopped by the house today. 🤣 Jeg's had a sale on the camshaft I wanted which rarely happens so I had to buy it. Saved me almost $30

LS engine stands aren't necessary. Out of the junkyard, into the truck, into the car, then the old goes back in the truck, back into the junkyard. No time for engine stands!!!
