I never tire of your solutions to the issues that pop up. I've looked at my mat at the rear seat several times and wondered about the fix as well, but never thought it put like you had, figuring I was screwed trying to find one that looked like new.... keep up the great work, your ocd always gives me new ideas for the Regal and the Chief!

Very nice factory looking solution. And don't take this the wrong way but it kinda makes the trunk mat look grungy and more worn out than it is. If it were me I'd have to go back and buy another chunk of that fabric and cut out a new trunk mat and I literally wouldnt be able to sleep until I did, but that's just me I have a tendency to let the small details get to me sometimes. Looks great though keep up the good work were all looking forward to get our fix in the form of your updates.

Thanks Darin!

The solution I came up with was not as obvious as you might think. I actually stewed on it for quite a while trying to come up with an elegant way of improving that without looking out of place.
I’m happy with the end result, I think it’s about the best I could hope for without somehow replacing the entire thing (which, to the best of my knowledge, no one currently reproduces).

No offence taken whatsoever.
😊
Pictures can be kinda weird sometimes, in person you’d be hard pressed to tell the difference between the new fabric and the original trunk mat. Yet in pictures, you’re right, the original mat looks grungy, dirty and wore out.

It doesn’t bother me as it sits currently, as long as it looks good and like it matches in person, I’m gonna leave it for now. I’ve certainly got many other areas that need attention much more!
Thanks for the comments man.

New ones are available, upper and lower I got new ones from Mikes monte's about 2 months ago. And yes pictures can be deceiving if it matches in person who cares what the pictures look like

Hey, thanks again man. That’s really kind of you to say. No problem on the color info, I’m happy to help out.
If you should decide to go that route with yours, be sure to post up some pics when you’re done. I’d love to see them.

Here’s mine just after I had installed the carpet kit and painted my panels:

Looking good... Might as well add the rear seat braces while you're in there!

Thanks Blake, that’s not a bad idea!
I had forgotten all about those, thanks for the reminder. I’m sure I could whip something up pretty quickly with the scrap steel ends I’ve already got...

Electrical conduit and a vise to squeeze the ends closed.

Cheap and easy bracing
