I've made some progress, but nothing too sexy yet. Completed the fabrication work on the frame and painted it a few weeks ago.

Tomorrow I'll be spending some large amounts of money with Speedtech, UMI and Strange to acquire the remaining chassis parts I need and hope to put it all together around the Christmas time frame. I'll be posting the pics as that progresses.

The body is all packed up and ready to deliver for acid dipping. It's about a month to get it back, then I'll work on mini-tubs and a dime sized floor patch from a leaky heater box. Then it's off for the rest of the metal work and once that's completed, I'll have it e-coated.

I'm at the point that I need to pin down the motor and trans. I will definitely run an LS with a T56, but not sure how wild I want to go on the motor.....

I've always thought Malibu's would've been sweet with T-tops. My second car was a 79 Malibu Landau...black beauty. I always thought about T-tops since a couple friends had T-top Cutlasses and Grand Prixs. I guess that's why I now own an 86 Grand Prix with T-tops! Good luck on your build! That is going to be super cool!

I started on suspension work today, putting together the front driver side. The Speedtech AFX spindles, UMI arms and Wilwood 13" brakes all bolted up quickly and easily, compressing the spring was a bear. I had to modify my spring compressor and think I spent as much time getting the spring in as the rest of the work combined!
