The front bench seat I have seems to tilt too far backward.....any suggestions to adjust it to have it more upright? I thought about shimming the floor mounts? Or is there a better way?

Shim it. You could either put them at the floor/track or seat bottom/track. Work it up with thin ones.

That's what I would do. Either shim between the seat track and floor OR between the seat track and seat...

Has anyone done a retrofit or modification of their bench seats to enable adjust-ability similar to those in a bucket seat?

What I am interested in is the seat back having adjust-ability, such as either being up right or reclined at varying degrees, which is a common feature of bucket seats.
