Cleaning up and fixing the mess under the hood. Car is a 87 LS, was a fuel injected 4.3. Now it's a carbureted v8, ecm is gone.

First is wiring going to a pressure switch(??) On the power steering line near the steering box. What's it for? Can I eliminate it? Besides the 2 wire plug at the box it goes to another 2 wire plug near the distributor, but is not plugged into anything. Instead the wire that appears to be interrupted by the plug has a diode jumping between the terminals.

Next is a 3 prong plug ( 4 wires) near the carb. Wasn't plug into anything, was it for the fuel injection or choke? Can I eliminate it now?

I'm pretty sure that wiring is for the AC. Some cars had an over ride switch on the PS because it robs so much power that the AC needs to be disabled temporarily. The large connector is also for the AC. I assume the AC is missing?

Flat connector with resistor went to the AC compressor clutch I believe.

The car did have ac, but when I bought it both ac and the heater box were removed.

Sounds like I can remove all of this wiring with no ill effects then, even the wiring going to the power steering. Excellent. As you can tell, it's a mess.

Thanks guys.
