If you have a remote starter solenoid it would be pretty easy to add a bump switch in the car to crank the engine but you still need the key on to give power to the ignition

3 switches:

Main power on/off
Ignition power on/off
Push Button momentary switch wired to the ground leg on a relay for the starter

I've done it that way with no issues.

With so much stuff on google and youtube, take a look in there.

Pretty easy. Need to cut the purple wire and pink wire from the column that go to the ignition switch on the base of the column. Pink wire to a manual switch and purple wire to the push button.

Why do you want to do this? Building a race car? If not, then not recommended for the weekend cruiser.

Push button start is cool on the new cars. My Audi has that but I wouldn't put it on my 87. Unless like someone has said, already is it race car? But it's your car do what you like not what we say:)
