So I picked this 9in up a while ago was pretty much bolt in ready less gears 250$ for it from a swap meet bought the center for 30$ and 80$ for a new set of 430 gears, mini spool aslo from a swap ,got the bracket kit from speedway 100$. These are pretty typical prices for used parts around PA just found a local junkyard got a pile of 9in centers guy told me 50$ a piece 30$ per housing not too bad I got a bunch myself . Anyhow I use a back frame section from a 78 Malibu for a jig alot easier then doing under the car. I measured my coils at ride height end up with 10" that can very but gets you in the close ball park so I have chunks of pipe I put in to act like ride height in the jig. I set my pinions at 4* down some people like 2* some like 6*, all mine get 4* put into them and have no issues. MEASURE MEASURE MEASURE take your time .... And yes it's a full floating rear axle that's just what I happened to have plus they look cooler too lol l. This is NOT a how to but just to show that these can be built at home very reasonable I done quite afew for myself and others have had no complaints so must be alright lol. I grabbed one of my 7.5 rears out of the scrap pile to compare weight figured it be a useful thing to know.

I have another 9" that's none full floating I will weigh but the hubs and rotors on the full floater are not that heavy I apologise in advance for the 7.5 weight being upside down idk what happened lol but it was 169 VS 221 and the drums for the 7.5 we're frozen in ice so I grabbed those two car rotors to act as the drums
