Well, this is my first carburetor car I've ever own. Had one of those plastic body Demon carburetor's when I bought it, and a tank and lines full of crap and old gas. Put in new fuel and cleared the lines a bit. Ran some fuel system cleaner in the gas too. However, the filter was still full of crap and seems like they wired the choke wrong and it's wasn't getting any power either. So honestly, the car ran but it felt real doggish. On top of that the throttle linkage was a big mess and I think the trans kickdown cable was limiting the throttle travel cause WOT was impossible. I tuned it with a vacuum gauge and adjusted all the throttle linkage best I could.
Well, about a month ago I got my Quick Fuel Slayer 600. But me being me, I didn't realize I needed to order the double feed fuel line for it, so I went to install it and realized. So then I had to wait for that to come in. Once it did, I went to install it againbut failed to realize that the Demon carb was a different style and the adapter/spacer wasn't going to work, and I couldn't mount it without a spacer because it would have all sorts of clearance issues. So I took the old carb off, cleaned and inspected it thoroughly, tried to remedy the sticky secondaries, replaced the fuel filter and put it back on, but it was still a dog.
Well, today the new spacer finally came in and finally I was able to get everything on. Ran a new cable to the fuse box for the choke too. Well, started right up, and took it for a drive. Wow, this thing definitely has some guts now. Haha. I think I love this car again. And I'm not connected the trans kickdown either, it doesn't need it being it's a TH350 and a light car. Well, just wanted to say I highly recommend these Quick Fuel Slayer carbs. Even right out the box without tuning, it runs like a champ. And it looks great too. I'll post some pictures when I get on my computer later. I don't know why it won't let me post through my phone.
