I have a 83 MCSS with a 454/th400 trans anyway i been having gas delivery issues out of the blue like the electric fuel pump won't suck the gas out out of the tank unless I blow a air in the gas tank line and it will come flooding out which I would hurrly connect the fuel pump back to the hose and the car would run but bog when I try to mash it after 50 mph and would idle badly so I would park the car and come out the next morning and try to crank it would catch then die then I pull off the gas tank to fuel pump hose and blow in the hose with air and it would come gushing gas out alive again so I dropped the tank thinking something is clogging the tank after it runs for a while is the fuel sending unit suppose to have a hose connected dropping into the tank right ? I'm so confused because the tank have sections inside. Just need to be pointed in the right direction I'll post the pics

the metal tube on the sending unit with the sock at the end is the pick up tube. Electric pumps don't like to pull gas and are better pumping it so how far is the pump from the tank and how old is the pump?

Hey the pump is New from summit because I thought that was the problem at first . Its right infront of the tank but before the car was running beautiful for 6 months then last week I parked it and it wasn't getting any fuel sucked from the tank unless I blow air in it and it would pull it for a good 30 mins for it starts to restrict and then idles bad but it will still drive all day until I park it and then the next morning no gas will pull from the tank unless I blow air compressor air into the tank gas line and it will coming rushing out like it suppose too .

Sounds like the fuel line may have trash in it.

if you have a rubber line from the sender to the pump that could be collapsing and causing the problem

Maybe you are having an issue with the tank venting? The pump is pulling fuel until there is a slight vacuum on the tank and the pump can no longer pull the fuel? Just a shot in the dark. How do you have your tank venting? Vented cap? Vapor canister?

Did you piss someone off and they put a condom in your gas tank?

If no

It's a great way to **** with someone that pisses you off!

What pump did it have before the Summit electric pump?

Checked all the rubber line?

Fuel filter anywhere? What is its status?

If it's a vent issue, it should cold start with the filler cap off.
