Radiator Drain?

Hello everyone,

Not sure, but is this the drain kock ? Trying to replace coolant

sorry for the crappy pic , this is from the driver side looking down.

81 GP 265
not sure if it’s original radiator, looks like it is.

it should have a petcock on it. All else fails, get a biiiiig deep drain pan and undo the lower rad hose from the water pump and let it flow.

Typically, on G-bodies, there's an opening in the radiator support underneath on the passenger side that allows access to the draincock on the BOTTOM of the radiator.

While that's possible that what you circled is a drain PLUG, I'd check underneath first. Reason is, you can see that the plug seems rather hard to get to.

Circled is where you typically find factory draincocks, like this monte SS pictured here.

i ended up taking off lower hose , didn’t see the drainkok

Don’t open it, take the hose off, they usually leak after you mess with them.

I guess they don't leak if you don't have one.

But if you ever need one, the GM number is 9437207
