Has anyone found from a different vehicle a top plate rad hold down? I'm getting an aluminum shroud and 2 12" fans to go on my new rad. The raised seams of tanks and core are 27.5" apart. I don't like the look I've seen on some Gbodies with this assembly open on top. There's gotta be something out there to do what I want.

I remember using aftermarket chrome top plates for I believe an A body to fit a larger radiator with some slight mods to fit.
They are $20 from Jegs and they come in black also.

An item that was commonly found on V-8 Cutlasses and Pontiac GPs, Bonneville and Lemans.

Thats the main reason I got rid of the custom fit Griffin that I bought for my 81 Malibu. I was using a Cutlass hold down. The tanks on the aluminum radiators are wider than the OEM. I butchered up a bunch of rubber saddles and didnt like the fit at all. I wound up buying a 4 row copper/brass radiator instead.

I bought the stainless hold down plate from Mikes Montes. Gbody Parts price was only $80.00 but when added on shipping it went up to $145.00. I payed $109.00 delivered. In a mock up fitment, it seems to fit OK.

Hi Doug, can you give me the width of the top plate where the rubber pads sit?
