Hi everyone,

First thread here happy to be apart of the community! First question, I had a bunch of ruined wires coming from my wiring harness that I re-spliced and reconnected (my gauge fuse kept blowing out due to a short). After I did that and fired up my engine, a bunch of blue smoke bellowed out of the carb and for the first time I heard a rapid clicking noise coming from the carb during idle. I’m aware that the mixture control solenoid does this when you turn the key but since I repaired these wires I never heard it clicking that fast while idling. Is this anything I should be concerned about? Engine is a stock 305 with a quadrajet 4-barrelI in an 86 SS. It’s running fine as far as I can see while driving around but this new noise is a bit concerning. Video for reference. Thanks!

That is normal, the solenoid cycles 10 times a second.
