Rattle Can Paint Jobs -yep, can be done!

Just after DIY respray done in my garage before wheel lip trim installed, 1994 at 160K miles. The original paint was getting a bit beat and there were stone chips and small areas of surface rust.

Original paint on my 1984 S10 Blazer featuring DIY striping kit, V6 to V8 swap done 1991. 1984 Kid hamming it up for the camera.1955 Wife not amused!

The actual time spent applying the 12 large size cans of Duplicolor Near Match Red Lacquer was 10% of the actual time of the job. 60% was the prep and 30% was the final polish with various grades of fine wet 'n dry, Brasso Polish and finally wax polish

Nice results! I've done some lower door panel repairs on beater cars with single stage enamel in a can. The gloss isn't as good as paint mixed with a catalyst and it doesn't seem to hold up well unless your cover it with clear. Hopefully yours doesn't fade!

I sold the Blazer in 2001. The paint still showed pretty good after 7 years. I sprayed a total of 3 thin coats of rattle can red. People could not believe this was a DIY job.
