Hi Guys,
So I reached out to a company here in Southern California that does 3D scanning/prototyping. My idea is to take the center radio/HVAC control bezels from a '78-'83 Regal and one from a '84-'87 Regal, and basically "merge" the designs to have the tabs and mounting points for the '78-'83 and the 1.5 DIN radio opening from the '84-'87 style. I have no idea how much the cost is going to be. That may stop me in my tracks.
But if the cost is relatively reasonable, I may have a few of them made. I will probably get one hydro-dipped with a woodgrain finish to match the rest of my interior, but the rest I will probably leave unfinished if anyone else wants to paint/finish to match their interior. Please let me know if you'd be interested at all. I will be sure and post any updates to this thread in terms of the cost/process, and I will post photos if I go through with it.
Also, if any of you just want a straight-up reproduction of either a standard '78-'83 or '84-'87 radio bezel, and just want a spare to have around, I'd be willing to do that too. Again, the big factor is cost. Will let you know. Who knows, this may get me started down the path of getting my own 3D printer!
