It's been over a year since I took old one off and over 20 years since I installed a new one and for the life of me I can't figure this out. Any help is greatly appreciated. In pics you can see I put those through the frame and installed the retaining clip but it just flops around. What the HE double hockey stick am I missing?

Wait....doesn't the hose slip through the hold from the fitting side until it stops on the ledge, then you put the retainer on?

Take retainer off. Place hose up through hole from the bottom side until it stops, then put retainer on top side to sandwich in place. I'm used to spring clips.

If you didn't mess with that hole in the frame,I'd say try a different hose.

That hose should fall in place, stop and place spring clip on opposing side.

Figured it out. You are correct. the clip goes on opposite side. I'm just missing another "clip" that retains it on other side to the frame
