I want to get all new rear suspension when I get my new rearend. Which lower control arms would be best for a high powered street car, no racing, tubular or boxed, non adjustable or adjustable?

I have UMI rear control arms and am happy with them. I have their Roto Joint on the uppers so the arms can twist when needed. If you want to move the wheel base you need adjustable uppers and lowers, to adjust your pinion angle you need adjustable uppers.

What rear end are you installing?i only ask because some 9" installs require an adjustable upper.tubular or boxed lower it doesn't matter.they're both much stronger than the stock stamped open shell that was o.e. design.

i'm running a 9" also,i set the length on mine to stock and haven't had any vibration/pinion angle issues.i think they recommend the adjustable uppers for manufacturing differences from one after market manufacture to another.i stuck with fixed length lowers.

Just checked Southside Machine. They offer double adjustable uppers, with non adjustable lowers for $350 VS UMI s$399 for an equivalent set. Any opinions on SSM?

I'm not sure SM has a joint on the uppers. Without a joint the rear end will bind. I have been using the UMI conversion uppers and lowers with the UMI Roto joint for about 5 summers and not problems with them, I haven't even had a need to adjust them.

I’m convinced, it will be UMI. Don’t want to have any problems just to save $50.00. Thanx
