Recently, I've had trouble with my rear window defroster (Grid-Type). Whenever I turned it on, it caused my clock/coutesy fuse to pop.

I'm thinking there is a short in the system. Also this happenned when the key is "off". I'm thinking that this accessory is supposed to be on in "run" only, due the current draw.

I'm thinking of rewiring the system, and have some questions. I've figured out, at least I hope I have, the following on the wiring harness.

Black=============Ground
Gray============Backlight
Red/Black stripe==Indicator Light
Orange/Black Stripe=====Power
Purple===========Timer???

What is my best course of action to get this right?? Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks for you help.
