if all else fails and you dont want to drill it out,,get it clean,,,i mean spotless,,mix up a big portion of jb weld,,dip a 3.=8 nut in it and stick in on the plug,,let it dry for at least 24 hrs,,dont drive the car,,let it sit,,,then try to remove plug with a socket and breaker bar,,,cheers 8)

I wouldnt even bother taking it out to be honest. Just get a new cover with a drain and a filler already in it. You may as well take the cover off anyway to check out the condition of the differential while your there so why not put a nicer looking cover on that makes it a hell of a lot easier to drain and fill the next time around.

buff it clean with a 3'' 90' grinder.. cut a 7/16 bolt down close to the head... hold into the square.. weld as much around it as you can.. weld heat will free it up and now you've turned it into a useable fill plug, when you get it out finish weld it and clean it up.

nevermind.. just read the part about the welder lol

i resolved this problem a while ago- back in February. 17/32 easy-out and tons of PB Blaster did the trick. i replaced it with a new plug and replaced the cover with a chrome one I got for $10 at a parts event. i also replaced all the cover bolts.
