My stock panels have dry rot issues, the best replacements I found have factory speakers plus I want it to appear factory and have the optional locking security doors to add to the cubbies. All part of the plan. What Mark has above looks great, just doesn't fit my goals/vision.

I might be willing to be the guinea pig although that price gives me pause for concern. Rather not resort to a BFH to the wheelwell to fit something :D.
Yeah, those shallow profile speakers from Crutchfield look great, but the price is definitely an eye opener.
I do like that you intend to keep the cubbies intact with the locking doors. I always thought they were a cool feature...although optional.

That might be your solution right there, Paul.^
Just get the appropriate speed clips, mark and cut out the openings, and of course dig up a pair of junkyard speaker grilles. You did say you wanted to place them in the original factory locations.

Well I ordered a pair of the Retrosound 4x10’s off Summit, they are definitely thinner than the stock speakers. Planning to get to my rear panels for replacement/painting later this year and will install them at that time.

Could also put them in the cubbies, behind the locking doors. Just leave doors down when in use, and close for shows/whatever. Would allow for the use of better speakers than what was available in/for the OE location.

No problem, thanks for doing the homework on what 4x10’s might fit. Doubt many options on the market.
