have a quick question regarding installing a factory sway bar on my 80 cutlass .does anyone know the correct bolt size and bushing width i would need to do this ?was hoping to pick up at the hardware store tomorrow .i would guess grade 8 bolts would be substantial enough.Thank, Jeff

OE stuff is metric, 10mmx65mm long, and the plates measure 30mm wide

For SAE, that would be approx 3/8 x 2.5" and 1 3/16 inches on the plates

I would box the arms for added stiffness as was done on the A bodies from 68-72

As an aside, I saw this on a car on ebay....not sure why they used a narrow bar off of a random car...maybe no G body donors around?

I would say that is a pretty sketchy set up with that sway bar and at some point will probably bend or tear the control arms being it is only bolted to the inside of the arms with spacers nonetheless.
