OK,

So this is one of those projects I’ve been putting off, not because of the difficulty, but because of what I fear will be another parts non-availability issue. I’m talking about the rear vent wing windows. So before I go into a whole lot of detail on how easy this is to do on an “A” body or “CK” truck, I’ll ask the simple question;

Does anybody make the rubber seals for these things? If so who and where. ...

After a good wipe down with laquer thinner these don't look too bad. Unfortunately, ain't too bad, ain't good enough. ...

I've never seen anything new for the vents.

I just bought some complete vents from northern cars with good seals to replace my dried out and broken ones...

I haven't seen any good ones either. Wish someone would start repopping them.

I've often wondered about the vent window seals. Mine too are looking a little long in the tooth. I'll see which ones I can salvage and which ones will be presentable enough to use on the car.
I wish someone would repop them.
I might also have to seek northern vents for my car... :wink:
Most sunbelt rubber parts are dried out and look like crap. :roll:

Metric or not, this is the problem with working on a tweener car. Still too new for a plentiful supply of repop parts and too damn old to get consistant OE parts coverage. In 2020, everything you want will be at your fingertips execpt the gas to put in the stupid thing. ...

Kevin, What are you smirkin about. ... :lol:

Kevin was kind enough to snag a nice vent window for me a few years ago.
I got the other off eBay from Ohio...
My wagon came from Texas and the seals were shot.

Poor Kevin's ears must be ringing... :lol:
Kevin is the main man... 8)
