hi I have a 86 regal with a 572ci BBC on pump gas and 5000rpm converter running a 4.11:1 diff and a glide what is the largest trans oil cooler you guys have fit in front of the radiator with its own fan as this car will see a lot of highway miles on dragweek and I want to keep the trans temps under control

I've used a large plate & fin oil cooler on my Regal and Dragster - work well and if your worried you can add a cooling fan

11x12 here as well with a 10inch fan and a scoop.

I had some clutches burn up before with only cooler so i over killed it. I also have a deep pan and 3/8 lines.

5000rpm is alot of fluid shear.

EDIT:
To clarify, my cooler is horizontally Mounted, in the center. You can see the scoop in front of the air dam and behind the license plate. The cooler is pressed up tightly against the scoop. There is a 10" fan on top of the cooler. It's a tight fit but it works.

Nice Regal. While I didn't put a fan on my cooler, it could probably easily be done. I salvaged a cooler from an early 2000's Dodge or Ford pickup. I can't remember which now. It's pretty big.

I had to modify the center support for the header panel to make it fit.

I just have a cheap tube and fin trans cooler inline with the rad cooler. It is generally recommended with trans coolers to use them inline with the stock rad cooler. Both for quicker ATF warmup and that liquid to liquid heat transfer is more efficient than liquid to air heat transfer.

Thanks keeping the oil flow through the radiator as per standard is not an option on my car as it runs a aftermarket aluminium radiator that doesn't have a built in cooler
