Remove column shifter? 86 regal

How do you remove factory column shifter on 86 regal? It seems there’s a little pin going through it.. I have a center console shifter now and want to get rid of the old one.

Knock the pin out from the bottom with a small punch. A nail or pick might work too in a pinch.
