I have never had heat in this car. 20 yrs!

I removed the top panel where the heater core/ac Condenser is. It was full of my back seat...if you get my drift.

Now that the space to the vent is clear, if I just remove the AC Evaporator, will my heat and defrost work?...(assuming fan, relay and controls are functioning)

I have a new heater core. I would be thrilled if I could keep the original ac/heater box and keep my heat/defrost.

I can take pictures.

Yea it'll still work. The heater core & evaporator function independent of each other.
So as far as air flow is concerned, all I do is plug the space left from the evaporator being removed?

Just make a plug or block off plate to fit then seal it of. Depending on future plans you might want to block it so you could put the A/C back in if you change your mind.

Looking for help spelling this out.
One day I might try to revive AC but for now I just want my heat.

Neither AC or heat has ever worked since I've had it.
A. Cut red wire, can't understand why
B.
C.
D. Fan?
E. Fan?
F. Hooks up next to blower

What are they?
Thank you for the replies.
I have a manual but don't understand the diagrams.

A. 12v from starter for high speed blower relay
B. Engages compressor clutch
C. Don't remember exactly, but houses power (D) and ground (E) for blower motor.
D. Power to blower motor. Connects directly to blower motor.
E. Ground for blower motor. Connects to a screw holding a small metal tab that also holds the blower on.
F. Resistor plug for all speeds but High.

Don't cut or eliminate anything. Just tape it up and fold it out of the way. Of your confused now, imagine trying to do it from scratch.
