im considering removing the computer in my 85 cutlass supreme when i put my new motor and trans in but can find a straight answer if the a/c will still work out not...the only thing i really care about is that i have ps, a/c, heat, and all my lights and gauges and things work right.

so my questions are.. is everything going to work right? and the computer is located on the passengers side on the right below the glovebox?

You may be okay. I can't remember what year it was they had the computer involved in the A/C operation. It may have been in '86 or '87. I know on my '87 the ECU was involved in some way.

if i just unplug the ECU and try to run the ac would that tell me if it would work with are the wires and everthing removed?

This is simple. Look at your accelerator pedal. If there's an electric switch at the top of the pedal, the A/C is independent of the ECU. If there is not a switch, then the computer is in the circuit for the compressor clutch.

Hthe full throttle A/C cutoff switch on the gas pedal was only used on VIN 9 cars:

Not according to my Chassis Service Manual. V6 cars also used the gas pedal switch. VIN Y cars got it in earlier years.
