I have the lighted dash plaque and I want to remove it but prying on it feels like something else is holding it but I can't feel anything from behind besides having limited access in there.
Anyone know exactly how this is held in?

It has a series of the pushon/speed/capture nut type things on the back side that are pushed/screwed on plastic studs, said studs passing through holes in the dash pad itself, plus the harness plug

Edit, b. pics coming tonight...

Has 4 plastic posts holding it on. One on each end, 2 offset in the middle with one coming off the top and bottom of the plaque.

This pic shows three from behind, 4th is blocked by plastic still in place.

These will be blocked by the plastic climate ducting in the dash which is why you couldn't get to them through the glovebox.

This is what a post looks like removed.

Plastic light plug just clips on.

Curious.... why are you removing it?

Thanks for the pictures, I could see one of the studs as I was gently prying on and figured it must be fastened on the back unlike my Monte where this piece just clips in and you are right I could barely feel anything other than the ac duct work.
I wanted to remove it so I could de-wood it like I did my dash and radio bezel.

Not fond of factory wood grain either eh?
Yeah, the plastic wood grain look is a little dated and I feel it looks out of place for my build.

I thought it was crazy how long they used wood grain. I worked on a 2008 with it lol

I polished the inlays first then taped it off and sprayed it semi gloss black, I will also be making new upper door panels and they will not have wood grain either but I might use the factory handles.
