If you want to get sciencey

I have a 3" single shot exhaust on my supercharged 3800 4th gen and it was really droney. Full exhaust out the back. I put a resonator on right after the muffler under the fuel tank and right before the bumper. It helped a lot.

Ideally where the cats are helps the most from what I understand but I think they put them factory under the trunk because A. cats help B. the mufflers are good from the factory C. there really isn't many other places to put them.

Not just GM, our Challenger has resonators right at the exhaust tips. I may do the same.

Here is the system except the tail pipes. The exit point as well.
