probably been asked a million times so here goes a million and one. has anybody used the canister vapor return line as a fuel return line? 81 malibu, canister is long gone and line has been plugged off with a cap. getting pressure creep from 5.5 at cruse to 10 at idle with unknown age of carter pump. would like to stay with mechanical pump and regulate it to 5.5.

I'd guess that's 1/4" i.d. line? That should flow around 30gpm at 10psi for 100ft in length, so really it would flow more than that as the length is shorter. Should be more than big enough.

Be patient I’m sharp as a bowling ball, if the one line is the fuel feed and the vent line is going to be the return, what’s the third line for? Does it just become a tank vent?
I’m getting to tackle a similar deal, when my 307 comes out for a 455.
Thanks, Jim
