Holy Moly what happened to these guys???????

Awesome place, but the shipping is absolutely ridiculous now!!!!!!

Placing an order for a set of gas tank straps and the magnet collection 18.85 for both AWESOME!!!

Shipping......17.70??? Really?????????

They are are shipping from 2 different locations and the shipping on the gas tank straps is cheaper than the stupid magnets?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

That has been what I’ve found lately too. Been making it real hard to order from there.

Same here... I had parts in the cart, went to check out and saw there were 2 shipping charges from 2 different locations. It was too much... deleted items in cart..

I found the same thing. I found an awesome price on a 2000 stall TH350C converter and looked at intake gaskets and couple of other things. It added up to over $100 shipping because it came from 3 warehouses. It actually isn't that much out of line for us up here in Canada, Summit is similar on cost but I have an easier time finding parts on their site for aftermarket parts.

I've noticed that sometime back & stopped a few orders that ended up cheaper locally cause of that. To be positive maybe buisness is that good that they can't keep everything in stock at all locations, but it does kill the savings when $30 in parts ends up with $40 in shipping as each item comes from a different location. Think they need to do something with the inventory management system & try to keep a better tab on what is where or do some sort of multi-ship discount.

Buy one part at a time.... :)

I mentioned this in another thread, I think it was the O'reilly parts quality thread. Don't recall.

Rockauto can be awesome, but only if the entire shipment is coming out of one warehouse. Always double check before you order crap from them.

I just experienced the same thing when I bought my brakes for my Buick Lacrosse. The Raybestos brakes were the only ones that shipped from the same warehouse so that's what I went with. I was going to order some other stuff too but then the shipping costs went up exponentially. And I didn't get a magnet either.

Yeah, I've found that you have to fine tune the cart. Sometimes choosing a part that costs a buck or two more will save $10 on shopping because it comes from a warehouse that other parts are shipping from. On a larger order I may end up spending $6 more for the part but saving $40 on shopping because I got it from 5 warehouses down to 2.

Parenthetically, my local options are somewhat limited. There is a Napa in my town but it's the size of a large broom closet and they stock almost nothing. They won't set me up as an account either so it's full Napa retail sodomy if I have to order anything from them. Autozone is 15 miles away and better on prices for consumables but I don't buy much from them either.
I've been buying oil from Amazon and filters (oil, air, cabin) from Rockauto. Lately, more items from ebay too.

I've also started shopping for the same exact brand parts on Amazon and found several times that not only is the part cheaper, but also with free shipping...
