SBO Alternator Upgrade.

Hey folks another day another question.. I plan on ordering some HID headlights and a Digital Dash soon. Looking to upgrade my alternator for my SBO. I was looking at SI to CS and SI to AD conversions. I have an aftermarket stereo system as well. My question is would my factory bracket work with either of these alternator housings? If not what would I use? Sorry about dust doing glass work on head panel. Ignore the trans lines and lack of shroud those will be replaced shortly..

CS130 for an 88 or 89 Caprice with a 305. 105 amp, like 55-65 at idle speed. Fits where a 10 SI like came on your car.

Would a CS 144 fit as well? So no aftermarket brackets or fab needed?

I actually got a CS130 100 amp Delco reman alternator, works fine. Just tell them you have a 1988 Cutlass Supreme with a 307 and that should be the alternator they give you, same hook up as your current alternator. CS144 is bigger and requires mods.

I was looking at bolt patterns CS144 will work might need some finessing, but it'll work.

You might have to re-clock it, but I think a CS alternator would be the ticket. Of course the CS144 would be more ideal to power accessories, etc. being that they putout 140 amps compared to 105., but they are a bit larger.
I'm currently using the CS130 and I love it...perfect size.
