I still think Seafoam is overrated. I think the appeal is it puts on a smoke show so your neighbor walks over and asks what you're doing. Whereas regular fuel system cleaners go through without much of a display.

I just bought a can of the Sea Foam Deep Creep to try out on an engine thats been sitting a long while and is locked up. Haven't used it yet, but when I do, I post up the results.

I've heard ATF can be used for that

i bought a very low mile chev truck with a 5.3 that belonged to a old man.at a stop sign it would die.i took it to a shop i use to have them look at it and he said it was all carboned up.i didnt thik that happened anymore these days.well i went down there and they pulled the vacume line off the brake booster and with the truck ideling pored in sea foam down it.first slow till half the can was gone then fast till the engine stalled.we went and had lunch and when we came back we took it down the road and punched it....holy crap did stuff come out the tail pipe.sure enuff it ran like new....till the converters plugged up...oops. i was later told they knew the old man that owned the truck and they knew the truck never saw anything over 30 mph and that was on a good day.the truck had 33,000 miles but all under 30mph.... i use sea foam in every 4th tank of gas now

I've heard the same thing, as well as a few other home brewed concoctions. Diesel down the plug holes supposedly works too. Just thought I'd try the deep creep stuff when I saw it on the shelf. Thankfully, I've never had the need for any of this stuff, until now. Although, I'll admit to an inline six ford block sitting at home with a piston and rod in one of the bores as well as a lot of wood chips from the wood block splintering away as I smacked it to no avail. That one I never even tried turning over before the tear down. Had I, I probably wouldn't have wasted the time.

Sorry, back on topic now. Carry on.
