hey everyone, i have an 84 regal. both seat belts will not engauge if i give them a good tug like a modern vehicle. Do they need some sort of forward inertia to trigger them to lock. I just want to know they will work, thanks.

Yes, the easiest way to test them is to face the car downhill on a steep slope such as a loading ramp. If they don't engage then, you have a problem.
