does anybody else hat their seat belts in their g body?? i am use to driving around my cadillac, riviera and blazer, they all have seat belts that have the upper and lower..... roller upper thingys lol. g bodys have only one and they are just not comfortable to me and i plan to change mine but not sure what donner car to use. any suggestions or anybody who has done this before???

Well...I wouldn't use a Donner car.... they may try to eat you!

Anyhow, yes. The seatbelt position sucks on these cars. I have no solution that I have tried yet, but I did think of a possibility. Nissan in the 90's used a sliding mount for the seat belt pivot that has the pivot bolted on with one bolt. I figure that if I could weld in the mounting bracket and bolt the Nissan slider in, I could use the Nissan bolt thru the GM bracket and have adjustable seat belts. I have had more Nissans than anything else, and they have all had this feature. It makes it much easier to be comfortable in the car.

i am thinking maybe cadillac, they roll up on the side of the seat and into the head liner, very comfy!

The seatbelt cuts into my neck and the seats offer no lateral support. I am looking at pulling a set of factory Recaro seats from an 80's BMW 325 IS or 325 ES and having them reupholstered along with a standard back seat. This would replace my mint condition pillow top seats with something more fitting to the car's present character. I have also considered converting it to a split fold down rear seat from a later model car. I saw a setup in a VW Passat today that I really liked. Plus, German seats are stiffer and more supportive in the corners. I figure I could cut the braces out behind the seats and weld in the VW bracing system and finish it off with that car's trim to give the opening a finished look.
