I'm seeking some help to determine the best spray paint for an air cleaner top. I've removed the paint with Aircraft remover and sanded the small rust areas with 100 grit. Does the air cleaner top require high heat paint or is regular automotive spray paint o.k. Do not wish to bother with this item again. I painted this air cleaner top about ten years ago, unknown if I removed the light rust. Did not sand at that time.
A) What type spray paint will adhere well and which to purchase?
B) What type of primer should I use and is primer necessary.
All replies are most appreciated. Enclosed are some pictures.

* Are the surfaces prepared correctly?

If it lasted 10 years, use the same stuff you used last time.
Powder coat should last a lifetime and will be the most durable.

* I do not remember what I used. I'll try the Rust-Oleum Primer (2089830) and deciding between High or semi- gloss Rust-Oleum (252465).

* I certainly agree with you but powder coat is expensive and I'm only painting the cover not the body. I'm using enamel: not oil. does not recommend their spray paint on air-cleaner .

*That looks really nice. What did it cost?
